This past July marked the 11th year of persecution against the spiritual movement, Falun Gong, perpetrated by the Chinese Communist Regime in mainland China.
During this time, tens of millions of non-violent Falun Gong practitioners have had their lives impacted by the negativity and brutal force administered by the Communist Regime.
Around the world, Falun Gong practitioners outside of the mainland have labored tirelessly to clarify the truth to the various levels of society through grassroots means and peaceful efforts, and their actions have not gone unheard.
One such activity was a rally to protest the persecution held in Chicago on July 17th and was attended by some Falun Gong practitioners whose direct experience has included surviving the violence in China.
One such protester was a Mister Kui Huang a former PhD student at Tsinghua University, one of China’s top academic institutions.
The following is an excerpt from a speech he delivered at the public Rally in Chicago:
“At the end of the year 2000, I was arrested by the CCP’s secret agents just because of my belief in Falun Gong which teaches Truth, Compassion, & Forbearance. Then, I was put into a CCP labor camp, and was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment. During the total 5 years, namely 1,826 days, I experienced various kinds of torture: beatings, slave labor, force feeding, sleep deprivation for long periods, forced brainwashing, electric shocks, and other physical and mental abuse.
When I was at Zhuhai detention center, we were forced to do slave labor every day, from 6am to 10 pm, sometimes to 12 midnight. and the daily assignment of work was very high. Most of the products we made were kinds of decorative plastic flowers and the holiday colored light chains. We were also forced to process a kind of food which were pistachio nuts. All of these were exported to western countries to earn foreign exchange for the CCP.
I remember in 2001, it was very cold. We were forced to work on a kind of flower whose raw material was very hard. Soon my finger ruptured so deep that it almost broke. When we were forced to cut the shells of pistachio nuts using big pliers, my hand soon got blisters and the blisters became bloody, which made my hand very painful.
The environment of the detention center was very bad, even worse than that of slaves. Over twenty prisoners were kept in a room of about 15 square meters You can imagine how dirty the surroundings were. After I came to the U.S. I saw in many stores there are the exact same products we made in Chinese labor camps, tagged “Made in China” The CCP just exports these kinds of slave labor products to earn more money for itself.
In March of 2004 all the prisoners were forced to watch a video demonizing Falun Gong. In order to protest, I began a hunger strike and refused to take part in the slave labor. First, I was punished by being forced to squat for 3 whole days. My legs became numb. Then in April 2004, they held a “criticism meeting” against me. It was just like the situation during the Chinese Cultural Revolution. I was handcuffed behind my back and forced to kneel down in front of several hundred other prisoners.
I refused to obey them; Then their big leather boots began kicking at me. I was forced to the ground and over 10 electric shock batons began to shock me. Some batons shocked my especially sensitive parts, like my palms and ears. My whole body contracted and shuddered in extreme pain. At the same time they forced me to yield and admit to being guilty.
From October 2004 in order to force me to give up my faith in Falun Gong, the police kept me in solitude and I was watched closely 24 hours a day, including when I used the toilet. From the end of march to the end of April 2004 I was deprived of sleep for a whole month. At that time, I could go to sleep when Standing. But as soon as I closed my eyes, I would be fiercely awakened by the prisoners who were assigned to watch me.
No Matter how much torture I have experienced, it is just the tip of the iceberg of the brutal persecution that Falun Gong practitioners have been experiencing over the last 11 years. Since July, 1999 there have been over 3,397 Falun Gong practitioners who were persecuted to death. Much evidence has proved that the CCP has harvested organs from the living bodies of Falun Gong practitioners to make a profit. This is an evil that has never been seen before on this planet.
Here we protest the brutal persecution of Falun Gong by the CCP and appeal to every government and international organization to help us immediately stop the human rights crises happening today in mainland China.
In light of Mr. Huang’s torture experiences, it is important to reflect upon what more can be done here in the United States to help spread the word of this vile persecution and lobby our governments, and affiliated organizations to put pressure on the Communist Regime to cease its uncivilized and inhumane practices immediately.
There is no place in the future for such a tyrannical government and the sooner the civilized and cultured societies of the outside world awaken to its atrocities, the better we will be. It is by the power of the collective public standing on the side of global conscience and goodness that the wicked CCP will collapse and modern China will enter a new day in history; one free from oppression, fear, and torture.
Many believe that day is not far off in the horizon. Mr. Huang’s story is one of many which serve as a guiding light of hope for all those oppressed in China, that they may one day find freedom and gain new footing in a bright future. For the many others who may be facing such similar realities today, may your new footing be close at hand…
