Among the audience attending Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Northrop Memorial Auditorium in Minneapolis on April 14 was a human rights specialist, Kirk Allison, PhD, MS, Program Director of Human Rights and Health at the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health, had seen the show the 2nd time since last year.
Professor Kirk Allison was struck by the programs titled Nothing Can Block the Divine Path and Astounding Conviction in the New York-based Shen Yun Perfoming Arts that highlighted the current persecution of Falun Gong in China. For him, the most important dimension of the show was presented in these two dances that draw attention to the persecution of the Falun Gong, and also other persons and ongoing issues related to what’s transpired in China over the last 70 years.
He said that the show contains a little bit of both a moral dimension and a very great aesthetic dimension, such as he handkerchief dance with the tossing and the catching of it, which shows a great deal of the presence of the mind by the performers.
Dr. Allison not only enjoyed the the combination of classical Chinese instruments and the Western orchestra but also the excellent tenor singers.
Let’s now listen to Dr. Kirk Allison’s second Shen Yun expereince.
